Hi everyone in the North community
I would like to thank everyone who attended the meeting on Monday night. It was great to see so many people there.
For those who were unable to attend and as a summary for those in attendance.
The meeting was called to cover several aspects, over changes happening and that need to happen at CNRFC for us to remain a thriving club.
Paul Carter as of the end of October has stood down as Club Chairman, Paul has done a sterling job over the past 5/6 years leading the club. Paul led on the projects that have included the astro pitch, new 3rd pitch, remodeling of the existing pitches and the floodlights to name but a few, Paul's ability and sheer determination, to secure funds has been second to none and have allowed these projects to happen and now be completed. It's on that point that I'm very glad Paul has agreed to continue with the fundraising for the club whilst stepping back from being Chair.
I would like to personally thank Paul in all that he has done as chairman and for our club, he sure will be a hard act to follow.
On that point I have agreed to step in as interim Chair while we restructure the club, until we are able to appoint a long-term Chair to lead us forward.
Debbie Danter has also taken this opportunity to step down as club secretary, due to commitments outside of the club, but we are pleased she will still be around for a drink or too.
As such, we need the North to come together now and volunteers to fill lots of roles, so we are not relying on a handful of people and burning them out. Which we are in grave danger of doing and making our club unsustainable.
We are asking for anyone who can spare any amount of time to come forward and join one of the subgroups. The plan is for lots of hands to make light work, rather than a few having to feel committed to a second full time job.
We are structuring the club on a normal business tier system with the Executive Committee in place with sub committee's feeding into that; you will see a sample structure attached.
So, if you fancy a role on the main committee, as the club sectary (urgently needed), club chairman or have business experience you feel we would like to consider please contact me directly, so we can have a chat.
There are also a number of subcommittees that focus on different areas of the club with volunteer roles in each of them.
Club maintenance and Grounds maintenance
Help with painting our pitches, keeping the clubhouse clean and tidy, general DIY, painting, and all other aspects of maintenance.
Safeguarding and First Aid
Ensuring both our senior and junior side sot eh club are run safely, in accordance with RFU, government and club policy and ensuring a safe environment for everyone using the club. In addition, helping to co-ordinate and support first aiders in the club with the correct kit, training courses and ensuring best practice.
Communication.
Help promote events, spread news from the club, assist with GMS and other queries relating to the club and boost outreach via social media and other channels
Organising Events and Socials
Help plan our regular yearly events such as the awards evenings but also look to organise more regular social events for our members and wider community, such as quizzes, curry nights etc. help us get more people through the doors each week enjoying a good social atmosphere that isn’t always about rugby.
Rugby Committee
Help with all the tasks and co-ordination involved with running a lot of rugby teams from senior to minis, working with the RDO, each team should have at least one representative to ensure a smooth process and consistent message throughout the club with some joined up thinking.
So please come forward and offer some time. YOUR CLUB NEEDS YOU!
You can reach out to any of the following people Jonathon Powel, Scott Laird, Nick Townsend, Dan Thomas or Myself to find out more.
One final point and rumour I would like to squash it that the club is not in any financial difficulty, Yes, we have to be careful in what we spend and also need your support in attending our functions and making sure your membership is paid, but I can assure you we are in good financial running order.
I look forward to hearing from you and seeing you out at games, and around the club
Regards
